According to a post today on TechCrunch, Spectrum Equity Investors is acquiring a majority interest in The Generations Network. TGN is the parent company of, among others, Ancestry.com and the folks who gave us Family Tree Maker 2008. (I wonder if this means they will be changing their version numbering system again.) There is talk of an IPO so if you are interested in some stock, better get out your wallet.
